The ‘Ghosted’ campaign aims to draw attention to and call for action of people to dispose of their fishing gear (also known as 'ghost gear') responsibly. Ghost gear accounts for 10% of all plastic waste in the ocean, so it is a huge but generally unspoken issue.
The championing illustrations are designed to look like marine animals (a seal & turtle) even though the reality is just a strategic tangle of fishing line and gear. This alludes to a sense of danger and death of marine life caused by ghost nets.
